| This is the home of electronic
composer Jim Devault. He has been recording his compositions since the early
80's, and continues to record from his studio in the Dallas, Texas area. His
earliest influences range from Jean-Michel Jarre, Kraftwerk, and Wendy Carlos,
to Pink Floyd, Ennio Marricone, Ludwig von Beethoven, Peter Tschaikovsky, and a
wide range of composers with an even wider range of styles. The end result is
musical creation with its own sound and style, ranging from Synthpop to softly
flowing Dark Ambients, and everything in between. On these pages you'll find the CDs of Jim's works that are still available, plus samples of his work. Listen, enjoy. |

Fortress is having its 10th anniversary this year. Released in 2002, this CD is different from most of DeVault's releases. Rather than the usual mixture of upbeat and ambient, this CD is more drum and rhythm oriented. If you haven't picked up this CD yet, now is the time to do it. Available in CD or MP3 formats. NEWS from Jim DeVault: (Updated) "New CD in the works for release later this year, Aisle Seat. Currently in the studio recording the first tracks, a trilogy called MECHA, which is an experiment I've had in mind for a few years in which the music accompanies the atonal rhythm generated by a machine. The three tracks are complete, and we'll be previewing one of them soon. Breaking from my general routine and adding two (maybe three) vocal numbers on this CD. The titles to be included for sure are Aftermath of the Hole and Dark Skies; as you might guess from the titles, somewhat surreal/symbolic lyrics.
